Irene Swedie

Irene Swedie, nee Orciuch, 92, at rest Novemner 15, 2014 at her home in Lisle.  Mrs. Swedie was a 58 year resident of Lisle. Born March 5, 1922 to the late Victor and Anastasia (nee Janas) Orciuch. She began her working years as a  clerical worker at Western Electric in Cicero. From 1963-1970 she was the school secretary at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle. In 1970 Mrs. Swedie began working for Illinois Benedictine College, also as a school secretary, until her retirement in 1990.  She was an active resident of Lisle, assisting her late husband George at the Lisle Heritage Fest and in activities with the Robert Connelly Knights of Columbus Council 5186.  Survivors include one son George Jr. (Myong), one grandson George Chongho and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by her husbad George and one brother John Klimczak. Funeral Mass Thursday November 20 at 10 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Church in Lisle, preceded by a 9:30 visitation at the Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the monks at St. Procopius Abbey or the sisters at Sacred Heart Monastery in Lisle. Arrangements entrustd to Anthony P.
