Richard Michael Boehm
Richard Michael Boehm, age 44, went to his eternal home to be with our Lord on September 27, 2015. Born July 2, 1971 in Harvey, Illinois to Tony and Ginny (nee Prefontaine) Boehm. Rick is survived by his parents; wife Laurel; precious daughter Luciann; in laws Alan and Susan Sochacki; sisters Maureen (Steve) Frey of Wichita, Kansas and Pam (Ron) Izzo of Romeoville, Il; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Josh, Daniel, Ryan, Maddie and Jacx; great nephew Oliver and many more loving members and friends, far too many to list. Preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Fred and Virginia Prefontaine, George and Cecilia Boehm; Uncle Butch and Aunt Ceil.
Rick graduated from Joliet Catholic High School and Eastern Illinois University, with degrees in finance and economics. As a devoted member of Delta Tau Delta, Rick was an advisor for the lota Phi chapter at the University of Wisconsin-Eau-Claire. He was also a Director for the Todd R. Watson Scholarship Foundation, for a fellow fraternity brother, who also left this world too soon. Rick was extremely passionate about this organization and instrumental in organizing an annual golf outing in support of this effort with bringing many together over the past 23 years.
Rick was an avid sportsman, one whom could always be counted on to support the University of Michigan, the Chicago White Sox, and in particular the Chicago Bears – a passion friends and family were able to partake in as he shared his Bears season tickets of many years. His love of sports was not the only thing to have touched the hearts of his family and friends. His quick wit and gentle heart brought a smile to the faces of so many.
He befriended and mentored many whom he encountered in life. Because of his compassion and caring ways, he helped shape the careers of many co-workers, family and friends, which will never be forgotten. His passing, far too early, has left a hole in our hearts and he will be deeply and forever missed.
In lieu of flowers his family asks that contributions be made to a GoFundMe account being established for his wife and young daughter. http://gofundme.com/2f5dsxts
