David was born in Detroit, Michigan on Sept. 25, 1929 to his loving and devoted parents Oswald Frank and Dorothy Anne Birkett. He lived across the country in his youth in Oak Park and Peoria, Il., then Dallas, Tx. and St. Louis, Mo., finally returning to Illinois to live in Lisle, Lemont and Woodridge. He was the beloved husband of Diane (nee Georgia), with whom he had just celebrated 42 years of marriage on July 31st. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his younger brother George Birkett, and his first wife Barbara. David is survived by four children and seven grandchildren; Steve Birkett, husband of Mary and father of Ryan and Nathan; Cindy Cameron, wife of Scott and mother of Ian; Fred Birkett husband of Melissa and father of Haley, Brooke, Breanna and Gavin; and Michelle Birkett, wife of Mike Pickering. He is also survived by his older sister, Patricia Herne (nee Birkett). George Dewey McCutcheon

George Dewey McCutcheon, age 69 of Lemont, at rest at his home on August 5, 2016. Born November 14, 1946 in Joliet, Il. to William and Emily (nee Cutney) McCutcheon. Graduate of Lemont High School and Coyne College, George was a proud U.S Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam era from 1968-1970 in the 4th Infantry Division where he received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, two Army Commendation Medals, the Vietnamese Cross of Valor, and the Combat Infantry Badge for his distinguished conduct. Member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 50 years, George was an avid gardener, an automobile enthusiast and a lover of animals big and small. Beloved husband of Jessica (nee Maske); loving father of Michael C. and Mark A.; cherished grandfather of Penelope, Elliott, Maeve and Sloane; dearest brother of Judy Jelinski and the late Gene W. and Robert McCutcheon; dear uncle of Gene W.
