Jeannine Nielsen nee Kaminski, age 89, at rest January 19, 2016 in Eagle River, Wisconsin where she resided the past four years. Former longtime resident of Lemont. Mrs. Nielsen was a WW II bride and studied fashion design and sewing in Belgium. She worked out of her Lemont home for many years as a clothes designer and seamstress and eventually opened her own store, A Touch of Class Fashion Center , which she operated in Lemont for 20 years. She specialized in designing and making wedding and prom dresses. She enjoyed sharing her craft by giving sewing lessons to many women and young girls. Beloved wife of the late Chris Jr., loving mother of Sandy (Bob) Vasko, Kathy (Fred) Casali and Chris III (Dawn); devoted grandmother of Eric, Amy, Angie, Annie, Autumn and Winter. Urban C. “Puddy” Gerharz, age 84, at rest December 21, 2015 in Guadalajara, Mexico where he resided for the past 13 years. Proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the United Sates Air Force. Survived by his children; Eileen (John) Prendergast, Diana Ruettiger, Kevin (Terri) Gerharz, Tracy (Edward) Pietrzyk, Glenn (Amanda)Gerharz and Cullen O’Mara; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sister Karen (David) Garvey and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Urban and Marian (nee Seiler) and one sister. Owned and operated Gerharz Funeral Home in Lemont for many years. Urban was an active member of AA since the mid-1970’s, helping countless people to find and maintain sobriety. With the assistance of the Catholic Church and Lemont medical professionals, Urban did missionary work in South America bringing medical supplies to indigent Mexicans. He eventually settled in a small town near Lake Chapala and is survived by his special friend Enedina Toscano Perez and her family. Private services were held in Mexico.
